Tim and I are standing at her booth to book a tour that night around Washington's monuments but just as she's explaining prices I'm hit by such ferocious exhaustion, I can't go through with the booking.
Tim and I have been 'on the go' for three months now. Every day we've got up early to make the most of our big 'overseas experience'.
Time that would normally be spent milling around the house or sleeping in has been taken up by having to be super enthusiastic about each new town, city or country. It's all blurring into one.
Part of me feels guilty about the lost opportunity to learn everything about all those impressive monuments but that guilt is quickly forgotten as we drive towards our hotel, pick up stacks of 'take out' Quiznos subs and pile into bed to watch pay-per-view movies and raid the minibar.
I'm so shattered, being the uber-traveller has become too much and a night in front of the goggle box seems the only option. Thank god for comfortable United States motel rooms.
