I was born in Auckland and have been a Ballroom and Latin American dancer since the age of seven. I competed until the age of 19, when I took a greater interest in chasing the snow around the world as a sponsored snowboarder. Recently I returned to dancing for two seasons of TVNZ's Dancing with the Stars. I also honed my physical and mental fitness to win Celebrity Treasure Island; Pirates of the Pacific earlier this year.

Which of the attributes of beauty, brains or brawn do you most value and why?

I don't believe in being bound by traditional stereotypes or expectations of women. I try not to create limitations for myself when it comes to what I can achieve in life. I have many interests and do my best to pursue them all.

In my snowboarding and dancing careers I found myself in worlds where physical strength, mental toughness and endurance were highly valued and critical for success. Moving into television it's hard to ignore the fact that you're judged by many on your physical appearance.

Sitting at intersection of these very different sets of values, I'm interested to hear what is truly important to New Zealanders.

Hi Hayley..
I am a 28yr old F, not ugly at all, just right to do OK in the BIG wide world of dating, without sounding very much into myself ;) I live in Christchurch NZ. I have always been a personality person....BUT, looks definetly attract first(oh & shoes for me, tell alot..lol:) Anyone who say's otherwise is lying.
It is after the initial sexual connection/chemistry that i determine whether a particular person is up for the next round. They can be super hot, but a total bore/ass/etc, etc..

Hey Hayles

This is Aaron from DWTS. Go you Girl. I think the most important thing is who you are as a person. And for all out there Hayley is a beautiful person.

Lots of love to you. Aaron

Hi haley

What I like about you is your so grounded, beauty, brains, intelligent the whole package. Whats important to me as a mum of 3, integrity and a good value system, I believe money has its place, but it can't buy those things - money is temporary just like the benefits we get from it. Looks can get you in the door - but once the layers start to unravel, and once the years go by.... there's got to be something lasting underneath all that. Integrity and good values that'll do it.

I concur with Ibyawilliams. Your character is the right mix of all attributes. It takes time to show through and to judge by initial or at-a-distance appearances alone is a foolish practice indeed. The way you deal with the attention given to you is what shows others how grounded or not you are. Keeping your core values, integrity and not letting less significant features - superficial people focus on - become your focus does truely deserve respect. Respect is worthwhile

P.S. Beauty, Brains, Brawn all come and go during the course of the day/on a regular basis. Sometimes the effort to operate either of the B's above is just too much and in reality (thank goodness) we all have moments of relative ugliness, stupidity and weak pathetic feebleness and laugh at ourself/kick ourselves. U have to. I know I do. It makes looking good, engaging the brain and applying your physical prowess all the more rewarding. I'm a 26yo male building apprentice

Hello again Hayley,
If I had brains and wanted to do something worthwhile/meaningful with myself I'd probably avoid being a pin up celebrity. Is television "personality" going to be naturally how u want it or are u going to be made to perform to a director's guidelines? Builders/Red cross medics/people with real skills are called on to help people in need wrld wide. B&B&B people are those who are not pretentious and have a passion for doing what is meaningful to them. They are also truely rich

Hi Hayley. I'm not entirely sure if you read these responses but I'l write mine any way.. I think beauty has many advantages, inner beauty is really grounding and I find helps people relate easier but physical beauty is a handy tool in association with success, especially in such a media driven society..Brains definitely come into the equation, there is a fine line between success in life although it depends entirely on what success is for you. Brawn....its a dog eat dog world...U gotta be ha
